300+ Lemon Drop Springtails
Over 300 in every culture!
Lemon drop springtails, scientifically known as Ceratophysella sp, thrive in moist environments. Measuring around 1-2 mm, they serve as excellent recyclers in your ecosystem by breaking down decaying organic matter, which enriches the soil. In a vivarium, they will act as a natural cleanup crew for animal waste.
Springtails have a unique appendage called a furcula which allows them to leap away from danger. They can jump up to 4 inches high!
The benefits of introducing springtails to your setup include natural waste management, improved soil health, and serving as a nutritious snack for your fish or amphibians. Their playful antics also add a touch of liveliness to any habitat!
